Do you only breed Chocolate Labs?
Currently, Drogemuller Farms offers only Chocolate Labrador Retrievers. We have nothing against yellow or black labs, but chocolates are our favorite!
Can I purchase a puppy if I live out of state?
Absolutely! We have had customers travel from all over the United States to pick up their puppy, from Florida to New York and just about everywhere in between. If pickup is a problem, we would be happy to discuss the possibility of meeting you half-way or outright delivery to get your puppy to you. Just ask!
How much does a Chocolate Labrador Puppy cost?
Prices can vary depending on certain factors, but traditionally, our first pick puppies are $1500 each, both male and female, while all subsequent picks go for $1200, both male and female. Prices are subject to change, so just be aware and get in touch with us when you’re ready to buy to confirm pricing!
How does the "pick number" system work?
When you reserve a puppy from us, you are also reserving what is effectively your “spot in line.” This means that when the puppies are weaned and ready to go home, you will have the opportunity to pick up your new pup from the available pool of puppies. For example, having “first pick” for a male puppy means you will be able to choose from the entire selection of available male puppies, because you are first in line. Having “second pick,” then, means that you will be able to choose from the remaining puppies, after the buyer who has first pick has chosen. This is why our first picks for male and female are generally more valuable in price.
Are puppies always picked up in order by their pick number?
Generally, we try to schedule puppy pickups in order of pick number to ensure there isn’t any confusion about which puppies are or are not available when somebody shows up. We have had buyers in the past reserve puppies via video call if they could not make a scheduled pickup time, in which case the puppy is marked (often with a colored collar) as a way to identify him or her in the future. We prefer that everyone adheres to the pickup schedule as best they can to make it easier on us and other buyers, and we appreciate your cooperation in upholding this system!
